OVERCOME THE EXAMINATION PRESSURE
Exams form an integral part of a student’s curriculum to judge his/her performance. Low confidence, higher competition and ever-increasing expectations of other people from us is the major cause of stress and examination pressure. Stress is a normal deed during the exam time. But, stress in an exceeded limit can be a cause of worry. The stress embedded in us need to be lowered down so that it doesn’t affect the further performance during the exams. Have an eye on these things to adopt a better approach during the exam days.
(1) HAVE AMPLE AMOUNT OF SLEEP TO AVOID EXAMINATION PRESSURE.
Staying awake for the whole night before the exam day and thinking it would award you with a higher score is just a myth. Getting proper sleep the night before the exam is something really important. Ample amount of sleeping hours helps in proper functioning of our brain and helps to lower down the stress level. After having a proper sleep we can focus in a better way on our exam. Proper sleep acts as a major stress buster during the exams.
(2) FATIGUE STUDY IS IMPORTANT TO COPE UP WITH EXAMINATION PRESSURE.
Planning out proper rest intervals while you are studying for the exam has a significant role. Your focus can’t be on a bundle of books for the whole day. Proper rest intervals are needed to overcome the exam fear. Just draw out pleasure or watch a television series to refresh your mind. Continual studying without any breaks the day before the exam, can lead your capabilities into trouble. Plan your schedule with a good number of breaks to overcome the examination pressure.
(3) PROPER HYDRATION AND A HEALTHY MEAL IS IMPORTANT.
Have ample amount of water during the day, not having plenty of water can make you prone to anxiety during the exam time. Take the proper and nutritious diet, avoid Junk food to an extent. Junk food can be a cause of infection and unhealthiness during the exam time. Try to avoid caffeine and oil intake. A healthy diet ensures the sound health and reduces toxic wastes from our body which helps us to stay fit and relaxes our mind to prepare for the exams in a better way.
(4) SMART PREPARATION CAN HELP TO SCORE WELL AND IN AVOIDING STRESS.
Plan your studies according to the time left for the exam. Trying to bug up the whole syllabus in one go a day before the exam is quite impossible, seek help from the experts or the teachers to prepare you with important topics in case of less time for the preparation. If you keep on worrying constantly about what’s going to happen during the exam it will rise up your stress level. Learn to accept that you may not end up getting a 90% score always, you have not failed for not being a scholar. Try to work in the best way possible rather than, worrying about the failure. A combination of smart work and hard work is needed to score well in the exams.
(5) DIVERT SOME TIME LISTENING TO THE MUSIC OR MEDITATE.
Motivational songs and positive thoughts are the best ways to reduce the amount of tension caused due to the exams. Take a deep breath and think about all the good times you ever had. Peace of mind is important at this moment as stress prevails our mind to a larger extent. Meditate, dance, exercise to get your self-distracted for a while from the examination stress. Meditation or exercise can help you gain pleasure from the present moment, the distress caused needs to be lowered to study and concentrate in a better way.
(6) A PROPER REVISION IS ESSENTIAL AND AVOIDING RUSH IS IMPORTANT TO AVOID THE EXAMINATION PRESSURE.
Pack up your bags a night before the exam to avoid the early morning rush. Revise everything properly a day before the exam, observe the previous years’ exam patters especially for the university exams. Take a water bottle along and read the instructions carefully before starting up with your exams. Take care of the time you spend on each question and manage some time to revise the whole paper. Consult the teacher to have clarity about the questions. How you present yourself in those three hours will decide your ultimate result.
